伯34:1 以利戶又說、
Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
伯34:2 你們智慧人、要聽我的話．有知識的人、要留心聽我說。
Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
伯34:3 因為耳朵試驗話語、好像上膛嘗食物。
For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
伯34:4 我們當選擇何為是、彼此知道何為善。
Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
伯34:5 約伯曾說、我是公義、 神奪去我的理．
For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
伯34:6 我雖有理、還算為說謊言的．我雖無過、受的傷還不能醫治。
Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
伯34:7 誰像約伯、喝譏誚如同喝水呢。
What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
伯34:8 他與作孽的結伴、和惡人同行。
Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
伯34:9 他說、人以 神為樂、總是無益。
For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
伯34:10 所以你們明理的人要聽我的話． 神斷不至行惡、全能者斷不至作孽。
Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
伯34:11 他必按人所作的報應人、使各人照所行的得報。
For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
伯34:12 神必不作惡、全能者也不偏離公平。
Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
伯34:13 誰派他治理地、安定全世界呢。
Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
伯34:14 他若專心為己、將靈和氣收歸自己．
If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
伯34:15 凡有血氣的就必一同死亡、世人必仍歸塵土。
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
伯34:16 你若明理、就當聽我的話、留心聽我言語的聲音。
If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
伯34:17 難道恨惡公平的、可以掌權麼．那有公義的、有大能的、豈可定他有罪麼。
Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
伯34:18 他對君王說、你是鄙陋的、對貴臣說、你是邪惡的。
Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
伯34:19 他待王子不徇情面、也不看重富足的過於貧窮的．因為都是他手所造。
How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
伯34:20 在轉眼之間、半夜之中、他們就死亡．百姓被震動而去世、有權力的被奪去非借人手。
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
伯34:21 神注目觀看人的道路、看明人的腳步。
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
伯34:22 沒有黑暗、陰翳、能給作孽的藏身。
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
伯34:23 神審判人、不必使人到他面前、再三鑒察。
For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
伯34:24 他用難測之法打破有能力的人、設立別人代替他們。
He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
伯34:25 他原知道他們的行為、使他們在夜間傾倒滅亡。
Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
伯34:26 他在眾人眼前擊打他們、如同擊打惡人一樣。
He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
伯34:27 因為他們偏行不跟從他、也不留心他的道．
Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
伯34:28 甚至使貧窮人的哀聲達到他那裡、他也聽了困苦人的哀聲。
So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
伯34:29 他使人安靜、誰能擾亂〔或作定罪〕呢、他掩面誰能見他呢．無論待一國、或一人都是如此．
When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
伯34:30 使不虔敬的人不得作王、免得有人牢籠百姓。
That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
伯34:31 有誰對 神說、我受了責罰、不再犯罪．
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
伯34:32 我所看不明的、求你指教我．我若作了孽、必不再作。
That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
伯34:33 他施行報應、豈要隨你的心願、叫你推辭不受麼。選定的、是你、不是我．你所知道的只管說罷。
Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
伯34:34 明理的人、和聽我話的智慧人、必對我說、
Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
伯34:35 約伯說話沒有知識、言語中毫無智慧。
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
伯34:36 願約伯被試驗到底、因他回答像惡人一樣。
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
伯34:37 他在罪上又加悖逆．在我們中間拍手、用許多言語輕慢 神。
For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
